The Music Interest Floor (MIF) is a vibrant community of students with a common purpose. MIF is dedicated to the promotion of musical life in the University of Rochester community.
Each MIF member contributes to the greater goals of the organization – and to the exciting community life of the group – as an officer or committee member. The committee system allows each member to focus on areas like community outreach, group performances, and social life. The Music Interest Floor is part of Residential Life’s Special Interest Housing and is open to any undergraduate student at the University of Rochester. Our members have varied musical interests. Some listen to music but do not sing or play; many perform in campus ensembles; still others compose or pursue music academically. Anyone who wants to join a tight-knit community and promote music is welcome! Students who do not wish to live on-floor can apply for off-floor membership and still share in the group activities of the organization. Visit our Facebook page to learn more.
